McLymont Creek Hydroelectric Project wins Clean Energy BC's Project Excellence AwardEach year, the Clean Energy Association of British Columbia recognizes a number of individuals and companies that have demonstrated exemplary leadership in British Columbia's clean energy sector. This year's Project Excellence Award was awarded to the McLymont Creek Hydroelectric Project team, which included NHC.

The project is a 66MW run-of-river hydroelectric facility located on McLymont Creek, a tributary on the north bank of the Iskut River, about 100 km north of Smithers, British Columbia. AltaGas led the team of over twenty contractors in designing the project to meet British Columbia's clean energy and environmental goals. The project diverts up to 30 cubic meters per second from McLymont Creek through a 60 m long headrace canal and intake forebay into a 2.8 km long tunnel leading to the powerhouse. NHC's role included the hydrotechnical aspects of detailed design and ongoing hydrometric monitoring and analyses. As part of the design process, NHC conducted a 1:16 scale physical hydraulic model of the intake facilities. The project is currently on-line and in the final stages of project commissioning.
